THE ARRIVAL
INTRODUCTION

When you enter a country, the train generally stops at the first station.  You find a custom house there where your luggage is examined.  When you enter the country by sea, the costum house is at a port of arrival. On international expresses, hand luggage is examine on the train.

The Customs Officials look at your luggage and ask you  if you have anything to declare, showing you at the same time a list of dutiable articles such as cigarettes, spirits, wines, perfume, nylons, ect.  You answer: “I have some......to declare or I have nothing to declare, and you ask-Shall I open my......? May I close my........?

You arrive, you get out of the train.  You call a porter.  You said to him, ”Get my trunk please. I shall take a taxi.” The porter gets the luggage and puts it on the taxi. You give him a tip

When you arrive at the hotel, you ask for a room.  You take the lift to go up to the floor on which your room is situated. You tell the hotel porter to carry your luggage up.  If you want anything in your room, you ring for the chambermaid or the valet.  If you want anything to eat or drink in your room, you ring for the waiter.

SUMMARY
The two gentlemen arrive at Waterloo Station and drive to their hotel.  There are not many vacant rooms in the hotel and they cannot have any on the lower floors .  Finally, they choose two good rooms on the fourth floor infront of the hotel, which will  £ 5 a day each

They take them and have their luggage brought up by the porter. They wash and change their clothes and go down to the restaurant, for both are feeling hungry.  They have lunch and then go out for walk
