Mr. Allen and Mr. Burrows are going to dine with Mr. and Mrs. Jones. They converse on the way.
Mr.A: Well, we are nearly at the Jones's house. I shall be able to introduce you to Mrs. Jones and her children
Mr.B: They have five children, haven't they?
Mr.A: Yes, three boys and two girls.
Mr.B: How old are they?
Mr.A: The eldest, John, will be fifteen this year. Then comes Willy aged twelve. Mary, who is eight, is the third; next comes Betty, aged four, and the youngest is James, who is only two. He is the baby of the family.
Mr.B: What a large family! I suppose the elder children go to school?
Mr.A: Yes, John goes to a boarding school. He has just come home for the holidays. The others go to day-schools. I believe Mrs. Jones is sanding John next week to spend the holidays with her sister and brother-in-law, who are living abroad in France. Willy is, I know, away with his grandparents. The two daughters, Mary and Betty, and the baby, will be going away with their father and mother.
Mr.B: By the way, is your brother Jack, whose acquaintance I made in the States, back in England?
Mr.A: No, he is in India, but his wife and child came back to England last week. I was very pleased to see my nephew. He will remain in England for his education, but my sister in law will rejoin her husband in India in a few months.
Mr.B: How old is your nephew?
Mr.A: He is ten years old. He is a fine boy, but being an only child is rather spoilt. School will do him good.
Mr.B: Does he get on well with your sister's children?
Mr.A: Oh, yes! He plays all sorts of games with his cousins, and they never quarrel.
Mr.B: Have you any other brothers or sisters?
Mr.A: One sister. She is unmarried and spends all her time travelling. Here we are. Let's go in; I am quite hungry after our walk.
Mr.B: We mustn't stay too late after dinner, as tomorrow we are leaving for Paris.
Mr.A: Yes, but our train doesn't leave till the afternoon, so we shall have plenty of time to pack tomorrow morning.

Mr.A: Baiklah,
kita hampir sampai di rumah Jones. Saya akan bisa mengenalkan Anda pada Mrs.
Jones dan anak-anaknya
Mr.B: Mereka
punya lima anak, bukan?
Mr.A: Ya, tiga
anak laki-laki dan dua perempuan.
Mr.B: Berapa umur
mereka?
Mr.A: Yang
Lalu datanglah Willy berusia
dua belas tahun. Maria yang berumur delapan tahun adalah yang ketiga;
baru berusia dua tahun. Dia adalah bayi keluarga
Mr.B: Betapa
keluarga besar! Saya kira anak-anak yang lebih tua bersekolah?
Mr.A: Ya, John
pergi ke sekolah asrama. Dia baru pulang ke rumah untuk liburan. Yang lainnya
pergi ke sekolah hari. Saya yakin Nyonya Jones sedang mengampuni John minggu
Mr.A: Tidak, dia
Saya
sangat senang melihat keponakan saya.
Mr.B: Berapa umur
keponakanmu?
Mr.A: Dia berumur
sepuluh tahun. Dia anak yang baik, tapi menjadi anak tunggal agak manja.
Sekolah akan melakukannya dengan baik.
Mr.B: Apakah dia
bergaul dengan baik dengan anak kakakmu?
Mr.A: Oh, ya! Dia
bertengkar.
Mr.B: Apakah Anda
memiliki saudara laki-laki atau perempuan lain?
Mr.A: Satu
saudara perempuan.
bepergian. Ini dia Ayo masuk; Saya sangat lapar setelah kita jalan.
Mr.B: Kita tidak
boleh tinggal terlalu larut setelah makan malam, seperti besok kita berangkat
ke Paris.
Mr.A: Ya, tapi
kereta kita tidak berangkat sampai siang hari, jadi kita punya banyak waktu
untuk berkemas besok pagi.
